DÉFINITION COUPER SES PERTES : Suivant la fameuse expression boursière « Il vaut mieux se couper la main que le bras », ce terme désigne le fait de couper ses pertes assez tôt, compte tenu du contexte incertain et peu favorable, sans rester collé longtemps avec une valeur qui continue de baisser.

Il s’avère particulièrement difficile pour un investisseur de reconnaître une mauvaise prise de décision mais il est impératif qu’il le fasse au plus tôt pour qu’il puisse vendre avant d’essuyer des pertes encore plus importantes que celles qu’il a accumulées jusque-là.
